Do you have Internet Marketing Overload? Is your Affiliate brain on overdrive?
As a new Internet Marketer, do you sometimes feel like you’ve just stepped into an online quagmire? Do you wonder if you’re following the best Internet Marketing Plan for you?
How are you doing in your Online Marketing career, so far? Have you ever gotten to the point of information overload? That can happen to even the best of us, and it isn’t your fault.
It happens because of the vast amounts of data available in Affiliate Marketing, and sometimes, because of what I call the ‘too many choices paralysis syndrome’.
My own remedy for these ‘Internet Marketing ills’ is the following:
•break all tasks down into smaller units
•keep track of all accomplishments
•give yourself credit for reaching even the smallest goal
•learn the difference between structured and relaxed creative thinking
•be flexible and listen to your gut feelings
•don’t feel bad about not keeping up to original plans
Create an Internet Marketing Plan to suit you! Make your own lesson and task schedule.
I’m a ‘list’ person. I like a list because it’s visual and it feels great when I can put that big, red check mark beside each finished task.
With a list, you can break things down into manageable units, tasks you can handle in your allotted time frame. If you’re like me, and have family and regular job obligations, you may only have small pockets of time to spare for your Affiliate Marketing research.
If you start with the basic steps, as set out in Wealthy Affiliate, the best Internet Marketing course I’ve found, and follow each of the lessons and tasks given, you can’t go wrong. But you can also formulate your own journeys itinerary, by balancing these lessons and tasks with your own intuitive pursuits. For example, you may be really excited about creating your own blog to promote one particular niche, which is great, as long as it doesn’t steal away too much time and effort from your Internet Marketing schedule, and prevent you from moving forward in your program.
Keep track of even small accomplishments! Give yourself credit for each goal reached.
I keep a weekly journal, starting with my ‘to do’ list, then adding comments to each finished item on the list.
Sometimes I get new ideas for my next week’s list, or I might jot down an interesting website or affiliate product to research. I keep track of which Wealthy Affiliate tutorials I’ve completed, and which member blogs I’ve read, so that I can go back to them whenever I need a review.
Keeping a weekly journal is a personal visual expression of your Internet marketing efforts and will help you to appreciate your hard work. Whenever you have one of those frustrating days, when you think you’re not getting anywhere, looking back over your journal can adjust your mindset to thinking success by showing you just how much you’ve already accomplished.
Before you join any Affiliate Marketing course, please step back for a moment and think about what I’ve said, so far, about planning and balancing your personal life with your new Online Marketing career.
Don’t be an Obsessed Affiliate Marketer! The other side of the coin is balance.
As an Affiliate Marketer, have you ever found yourself up against that ‘workaholic wall’ that sucks the life out of your leisure time and maybe even your personal relationships? This may be the moment to rethink your Internet Marketing Plan.
Wealthy Affiliate University has an excellent program, but a high learning curve. If you’re a complete beginner at Affiliate Marketing, you may have great intention$ and goal$, but no Internet Marketing Plan or real idea of how much work is involved. I think that many new members join, work like crazy, then burn out, become discouraged and quit.
Before you quit your Affiliate Marketing career, please step back for a moment and think about what I’ve said, so far, about planning and balancing your online act.
Use two types of creative thinking – structured and relaxed! Both ways of thinking are key to performing your best online.
In my Affiliate Marketing role, structured creative thinking is taking a set time each week to browse online with paper and pen handy for jotting down ideas. Browsing is like ‘mind mapping’ – it’s intuitive and helps to awaken your creative juices. Relevant browsing research gives you glimpses of the whole picture of what Internet Marketing, and Affiliate Marketing courses, are all about. It can be a useful tool if used appropriately.
The alternative, relaxed creative thinking, happens when you’re really ‘not thinking’ about anything in particular, and suddenly you get a great idea. When you feel bogged down, get away from the computer for a while, get out and go for a walk, or take your kids swimming. I’ve often had my best ideas when least expected, or when something that has been rolling around in my brain has suddenly become clear, when my mind is the furthest away from the Internet as possible.
Being adaptable makes the workload easier to swallow.
How many times have you set out to make it through a certain number of weekly lessons and tasks, but were thrown off course by life’s events. Things sometimes happen – with family, friends, jobs, illness – right? Putting pressure on yourself, by focusing on what tasks you haven’t accomplished within a certain time frame, can only increase your ‘failure anxiety’ which, in turn, undermines your ‘creative flow’.
So, don’t listen to that little voice in your head that says you can’t.
If your gut is telling you that you’re on the right path, then don’t focus on what you didn’t do this week.
Just change your Internet Marketing Plan accordingly!
So what if you don’t finish that lesson or task on time! You can incorporate unfinished items into next week’s plan.
The important thing is that you keep working on each lesson and task that your Internet Marketing course, such as Wealthy Affiliate University, sets out for you.
Learning is crucial to your success as a Wealthy Affiliate, but it’s the completion of each task that really count$.
Finally, don’t judge yourself against other Affiliate Marketers! Be unique! Find your own way to Online Marketing Success.
Create the Internet Marketing Plan that suits you.
Be flexible – adjust your plan to progress through your Affiliate program.
Think success by crediting yourself for tasks already achieved.
Make time for personal relaxation to maintain balance.
Just keep going…..and you’ll keep moving forward!
